How long does it take to see results from drinking whey protein shakes?

Whey protein shakes are just food. They don’t do anything that any other complete protein source does.

The majority of questions I answer involve whey protein. There must be some really convincing deceptive marketing going on out there. What do people think whey protein is (it’s what is left over after making cheese). What to people think whey protein does? Only drugs work like drugs—supplements are food.

Eat food. If you can’t get enough protein from food, only then do you need a protein supplement. And be sure you’re clear on why you need so much protein. If you’re not an elite athlete, try backing off on the protein and see if you don’t do just as well. Try the RDA for protein (.36 grams per pound of bodyweight) for awhile. Remember, muscle is mostly water and carbohydrate is protein sparing.

I’m wondering about attachment and transference with the therapist and the idea of escape and fantasy? How much do you think your strong feelings, constant thoughts, desires to be with your therapist are a way to escape from your present life? I wonder if the transference serves another purpose than to show us our wounds and/or past experiences, but is a present coping strategy for managing what we don’t want to face (even if unconsciously) in the present—-current relationships, life circumstances, etc. Can anyone relate to this concept of escape in relation to their therapy relationship? How does this play out for you?
